Randy McLachlan

Managing Director

Randy’s formal education includes a B. A. (Finance) from University of Regina, a B. A. (Economics) from Luther College and a LLB from Dalhousie University. After articling at Osler, Hoskin and Harcourt, he was called to the bar of Ontario and subsequently earned his Chartered Accountant designation (Ontario) with Deloitte, Haskins and Sells. Randy honed his skills as a tax specialist for another major accounting firm, while also completing the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants’ In-Depth Tax Course. Following this, Randy became a tax partner in a specialty law firm and used his tax practice as a cornerstone to develop an integrated wealth management business to advise individuals, families and their businesses.

Having found existing professional practices too restrictive to effectively serve the needs of families, Randy created Genbridge in order to best serve individuals, families and their businesses. Randy tried several different paths- including an IDA registered brokerage firm, a major Canadian bank and its investment counseling firm and an independently-owned investment counseling firm- before deciding that the multi-family office model was the best approach.

Aslan

Vice President of Stress Relief

We regret to announce the passing of our dear VP and constant companion, Aslan, on May 1, 2013. His absence leaves a hole in our hearts, our lives and our days.

Aslan—the Noble Lion of Stonemead—had an auspicious beginning, being born into a family of eight in Milton nearly a decade ago. As the smallest puppy in the pack, his “person parent” carried him in his shirt for the first few weeks of his life. During this time period, he had the opportunity to attend his first business meetings and take numerous trips to the bank. This experience has led him to develop such a strong bond with people that visitors often comment that Aslan ‘doesn’t even know he’s a dog’. Always there with an able paw and a wagging tail, Aslan greets visitors at the door. He is a welcome addition to meetings and is always happy to carry note pads to and from the boardroom. With his business background- and years spent as a therapy dog involved in visitations to seniors’ homes and hospitals- he comes to Genbridge ably qualified as Vice President of Stress Relief.
